Unfortunatly we had to cancel the BASICS Training Day due to BASICS not being able to get faculty to come along and run the sessions. This was entirely out of our control and very dissapointing.

However, on the positive side we do plan to hold the lecture and training day in the new year! The same rules will apply and more detail will be published here, on the forum and the Facebook group when we have finalised arrangements.

In the new year we have already got some good plans together. We will be organising trips to the Royal Navy Search and Rescue Flight at HMS Gannet, and will also be hearing from a Surgeon Commando from the Navy about life on (and off/below) the ocean wave, which promises to be very interesting.

We will also be organising trips to the Scottish Ambulance Helicopter (Helimed 5) based down at Finnieston.

The committee also agreed that we need more social events and to this end we're planning to go down to Xscape at Breahead in the new year, among other more light-hearted events.

Finally, in January, it will be time to hold our AGM and elections to the committee. If you would like to stand for election for any of the posts or to be an representative committee member, then you need to indicate this in writing (by email is fine) at least 1 week before the meeting. Full details will be sent to all members by email shortly.

Well, hope you all have a great Christmas and a Happy New Year, and we look forward to a busy 2nd term
